The Weekend Makeover crew proves speakers don’t have to be seen to be heard, shows how opposites (when it comes to carpets, at least) attract and walks the plank across a ceiling. Also: Two hot products for the new year.

Repeat after me: No more speaker wires! Stealth makes surround sound speakers that actually disappear into the wall. Magic? See for yourself.

Solas helped us add a little sophistication to our traditional family room and kitchen. For our eat-in kitchen we used the Party Extendable table with Emery Leather chairs. For our family room, we chose the Peel Chair.

We added pizzazz to a spare bedroom with laminate ceiling planks from BHK. We chose Monteblanc Pine from their roster of colors and finished the ceiling with a double bevel crown molding.

One of our hot products for the new year, Shower Twin is a simple and affordable way to turn a run-of-the-mill shower into a spectacular system that allows you to use three shower heads at one.

Continental President David Wright joined us for a brief tip session, explaining the dos and don’ts for picking a curtain rod.

CAS surveyed our ceilings and recommended a couple of crown moldings that fit perfectly into our converted family rooms.

Current Carpets owner Hansine Goran was extremely instrumental in helping us modernize a family room in the show’s first makeover project. As you’ll see, her suggestions were right on target.

Lasting Impressions saved the day with a faux finished that was not only easy to apply and covered walls dinged up after removing wallpaper, but looked awesome.

Wall beds are a great way to conserve space. We opened up so much room with their Presidential model.  We also added some extras to ours, including a wall cabinet, slide-out tray and drawer cabinet.

The second of our hot products for the new year, NobleHouse uses a simple clip system that allows home owners to float solid wood floors over tile and other difficult surfaces.
